WNET is a women-centered network within the Tamil Center of Stamford, founded in May 2024, created to bring women together to connect, support one another, grow, lead, and make a meaningful difference in our community.
We believe every woman deserves a supportive network where she can ask questions, seek guidance, share experiences, discover opportunities, and find encouragement through every stage of life.
Together, we build a community of women who are strong, confident, informed, healthy, compassionate, and empowered to lead.
WNET is more than a social group. It is a network built around the well-being, growth, confidence, and leadership of women.
We create opportunities by bringing women together to learn from one another, gain insight from knowledgeable professionals, educators, and community leaders, on topics that matter to their everyday lives.
Whether you are navigating a new stage of life, building your career, raising a family, looking for guidance, or simply looking for kinship that understands and supports you, WNET is here for you.
Life brings challenges, transitions, and unexpected moments. Sometimes, having someone to talk to, a resource to turn to, or a community that understands can make a meaningful difference.
WNET provides a supportive space where women can connect, listen to one another, share experiences, and offer encouragement.
Women often carry many responsibilities: as professionals, mothers, caregivers, daughters, partners, and community members.
WNET aims to create awareness around mental and emotional well-being by bringing in relevant resources, conversations, professionals, and guidance when needed.
Our goal is to encourage women to prioritize themselves, seek help when needed, and know that they do not have to navigate everything alone.
A healthy woman is an empowered woman. An empowered woman is a happy woman!
WNET promotes awareness and education around women's physical health, preventive care, wellness, nutrition, fitness, and different stages of a woman's life.
Through informative sessions and access to appropriate resources and professionals, we encourage women to become more informed and proactive about their health.
We believe every woman has the ability to grow, learn, and create her own path.
WNET provides opportunities to develop confidence, discover new interests, learn practical skills, exchange knowledge, and gain access to resources that can help women move forward personally and professionally.
We believe leadership grows when women support women. We want to see more women step forward, take initiative, and become leaders.
WNET encourages women to share their expertise, mentor others, build professional connections, explore career opportunities, develop leadership skills, and take on meaningful roles within the community.
Leadership does not always mean having a title. Sometimes it means having the courage to speak up, start something new, help another woman, or take the first step.
Empowerment also means giving back.
WNET organizes and supports initiatives that respond to the needs of our wider community, including food drives, charitable efforts, support for families in need and opportunities for women to contribute their time, skills, and resources.
From our Thanksgiving food drive to other community service initiatives, we believe that when women come together with purpose, their collective impact can be powerful.
