Who we are

Celebrating Tamil language and heritage in Connecticut

Tamil Center of Stamford, Inc. (TCSI) is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit cultural organization based in Stamford, Connecticut. Our story began in 2014 with the founding of our Arumbu Tamil School, and TCSI was incorporated as a nonprofit in 2018. Today we bring together the Tamil community of Fairfield County — serving approximately 200 families — to celebrate our shared language, arts, and heritage, and to share that heritage with our neighbors.

In 2024, our community marked 10 years since Arumbu first opened its doors — a decade of language classes, cultural celebrations, and growing together.

What we do

Programs that keep us connected

  • Teach the Tamil language to children through Arumbu Tamil School.
  • Celebrate Tamil festivals and cultural milestones throughout the year.
  • Support women in our community through the Women's Network (WNET).
  • Develop the next generation of leaders through the Youth Committee.
  • Connect Tamil families to one another and to the broader Connecticut community.
  • Host cultural evenings, music, and community picnics.
